São Paulo, Brazil – August 27, 2026 – KIJO Group has successfully concluded its participation at Intersolar South America 2026, Latin America's largest exhibition and conference for the solar industry, held from August 25–27 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo.

This year's edition marked the 13th edition of the event in Brazil, reflecting the remarkable transformation and maturation of the country's solar energy sector over more than a decade. As part of The smarter E South America, the event brought together over 600 exhibiting companies and was expected to welcome more than 55,000 visitors across its three-day run. Among the exhibitors, 123 Chinese companies participated, underscoring China's significant role in the global solar energy supply chain and its growing presence in the Brazilian market.
Energy Storage Takes Center Stage
Throughout the three days of intense activity, energy storage emerged as one of the dominant themes across the exhibition halls. Manufacturers presented new batteries, integrated storage systems, and solutions tailored to different consumer segments — from residential and commercial establishments to large industrial consumers and utility-scale projects. Major global companies, including PowerChina, showcased their latest storage technologies.
The prominence of storage technologies reflected a broader market transformation. As the share of variable renewable sources in Brazil's electricity matrix continues to grow, so does the importance of storing electricity generated during periods of surplus for later use. Storage was presented at the fair as a technology capable of fundamentally changing how consumers and businesses utilize solar energy — from residential systems that store daytime generation for nighttime use, to industrial applications that help manage supply-demand fluctuations.
This growing focus on storage was reinforced by a major policy announcement from ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association) during the opening day. The association presented an ambitious 2027–2030 agenda targeting 18 GW of expansion in large-scale solar power plants and 8 GW of energy storage systems to be contracted, along with expanding solar-plus-storage access to 3 million consumer units. Bárbara Rubim, Chair of ABSOLAR's Board of Directors, emphasized that batteries are "a strategic technology to give flexibility to the system, reduce waste, and increase energy security, while also opening space for a new production chain and attracting billions of reais in new investments."
