Key targets include:

• 8 GW of energy storage systems to be contracted

• Solar‑plus‑storage access expanded to 3 million consumer units by 2030

Bárbara Rubim, Chair of ABSOLAR's Board of Directors, emphasized the strategic role of batteries: "Batteries are a strategic technology to give flexibility to the system, reduce waste, and increase energy security, while also opening space for a new production chain and attracting billions of reais in new investments."

The announcement comes as Brazil faces increasing curtailment of renewable generation, which reportedly caused an economic impact exceeding R$ 6 billion in 2025 alone — further underscoring the urgent need for robust energy storage infrastructure.
